The Pious Son

He was very tired, because he tried hard to take care for his family as better as possible, but the income he gained wasn’t enough. So he tried to work even after the working time had vanished. One day when the master asked:

-          Who will stay as a guard during the night? He was the first to reply:

-          Sir, I am ready to guard at night.

One day in the factory came a friend of the master to do some kind of job. The work was as such that it needs to work even after the working time.

The old man, delightfully, decided to help then until to finishing the work. After a couple of days the work was done. The master’s friend gathered all the tools and left aside some pieces of iron, and said  to the old man:

- O uncle, thank you very much for your concern and help. I am leaving here these pieces of iron. I will come and take them when I will have time!

The old man remained astonished. The master’s friend only thanked him and gave nothing more. During the days he was helping him, the old man was dreaming of what could he do with the money the friend’s master would give to him. Sorrowfully, he quickly closed the door, sat down for a moment and then quickly stood up. He took a sack and started to fill it up with the pieces of iron for which he was not only rewarded for the work done but even charged to take care for them until the master’s friend would come to take them. He loaded the sack on his back and took the way home. After he reached home, he put the sack on the ground and took a deep breath.

His wife asked him with surprise: - What is it?!

- That is what is due to me for my unpaid job. I took these pieces of iron. I will sell them and take what is due to me.

His little son, who was in the second class, had just waken up from sleep. He was lying on his bed when he heard the father word. The son was very astonished. Quickly, he got up from the bed, went near to his father and said to him:

- O my father, do you wish to feed us with haram. Please father, do not reply the haram with haram.

His father was astounded. He did not expect to here these words from his little son. With tears in his eyes, he loaded the sack on his back and took the way back to factory. With lips shaking, he continuously whispered these words: “O Allah, all thanks are for you that made it possible to educate my son with Islamic moral and became a pious son to save me from falling into haram.
