He
was Old. He had left his motherland and had migrated. Since his children were
still very young, he was the only one that worked. By the will of Allah, his
elder children had died and the later ones were alive. The old man felt
affection for the faith of Almighty Allah and knowledge. For this reason, even
though he was the only one to work and the wage was very small, he had sent his
only son in school to learn and memorize the Holy Qur’an, to become a hafiz.
Even he head four heads to feed, and with his son in Madrasa, he got support to
Allah and never gave up.
He
used to work during the night, in this way he usually performed the Morning
Prayer in the mosque of his son’s school, because it was near his place of
work. One day, he came in the mosque to perform the Morning Prayer. After the
prayer, he stayed and had a conversation with his son.
How
are you my son?
Alhamdulil-lah
(praise be to Allah), I am fine. O my father, how are you? Are you tired?
O
my son, father never gets tired for you. Moreover when you are in the path of
Allah, my power increases.
The
son wanted to tell something to his father, but because of economic problems he
didn’t speak, and from his opened mouth came out no sound.
The
father, as if he had understood something, asked his son: - Did you want to tell
something?
Since
his father showed interest, the son took the courage and said: - Yes, father! A
friend of mine is selling some very interesting books with good price!
The
father was speechless. He had no money and could not give an answer to his son.
-
We will see what can we do tomorrow, Allah Karim (Allah is Generous), - said the
father with difficulty. When he was parting from his son, his thoughts made as
if his steps were very heavy. He thought whether to ask his employer for a loan
or not to buy his son the books. Lost in thoughts, he started talking to
himself: “If he were in the wrong way and should he had borrowed money and
given after gambling, alcohol, stealing and
other vices, I would had to find this money and maybe more than that.” The
next day, before starting the job, he took the money from his employer. His
employer sympathized him. Eased and happy, he gave the money to his son. He
bought the books, placed them under his armpit and took his way home. He was
jumping for joy.
